Danni and Charlie do craft

Two ladies and a whole lotta wool

Our first ever blog competition – in collaboration with the wonderful Craft Candy!

Today we have an exciting competition for you! Craft Candy have recently launched an app and to celebrate, they’ve given us two Craft Candy websitecross stitch iPhone cases to give away.

The app is free and available now on both the Apple and the Android store and it’s looking great. To find a course near you, just put in the craft you’re interested in, let it locate your area, and it’ll bring up all the classes coming up in your area. If you want to find a market just hit “nearby” and you can search a list of what’s going on around you.

“I just found “The Vintage Tea Party & Gift Fair at the Boogaloo just up the road from me – thanks I will!” – Danni’s loving this!

Craft Candy’s generosity has inspired us so we’ll also include either a pompom necklace or some pompom earrings handmade by the lovely Danni herself.

To enter this competition either comment on this blog post or send a tweet with the #mycraftkit hashtag to @HeDanni and @AltCharlieP, about your most vital craft essential. We’ll choose out favourite two and announce the winner next week (competition will close at midnight on 1st April 2013 so make sure you tweet or comment on this post by then! Sorry but this comp is open to UK only).

About thisischarlie

I'm Charlie Parker, one half of the craft duo Danni and Charlie do craft. I love crafting in all its guises, from baking to knitting to growing vegetables (which most definitely IS a craft). I am all about local - local wool, local shops, local communities. I am a novice drawer and doodler, my plan is to be better and do my own illustration zine and then hit the road with my wool and bearded Canadian. These are my dreams. Thank you for visiting my blogs.

It’s a difficult decision… But I think given the number of blankets I’m making at the moment and my ever-growing crochet obsession I would have to say a crochet hook!

    • Ooh I do love a crochet hook! Great for crocheting and also for picking up dropped stitches when knitting

Scissors, very sharp, very ergonomic and a pleasure to cut through any fabric, thick or thin.

My essential crafting item/items is/are my knitting needles. Because… that’s all I can really do craft-wise. They are made out of bamboo (?) so they’re easy on the joints. Safety first!
